小暑是二十四节气的第十一个节气，意味着干支历午月的结束和未月的起始。太阳到达黄经105°时，小暑伊始。“暑”是炎热的意思，小暑意即“小热”。小暑开始进入伏天，人们容易精神倦怠、食欲不振，因而有谚语道：“大暑小暑，有米懒煮。”
Minor Heat (Chinese: 小暑) is the 11th solar term of the year. When the sun reaches the celestial longitude of 105°, the Minor Heat period starts. Minor Heat signals the coming of Sanfu Days, or dog days of summer. During this period, people will easily turn fatigued and lose their appetite. Therefore, there is an old saying: "During the Minor Heat and Major Heat period, people don't bother to cook."
